UAE Motor Racing Team to Compete in Spanish 24 Hours Race

DXB Racing will represent the UAE in September’s Spanish 24-Hours race to be held at the Circuit Catalunya campaigning the Dubai based team’s SP2 class winning Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

“We are delighted and proud to be entering a locally prepared car and resident drivers in a FIA sanctioned European 24-hour event and feel confident that both car and drivers will perform at a high level and make the UAE proud” commented Jonathan Simmonds Team Principle of DXB Racing.

Racing in any 24-hour event places unique pressures on both the drivers and the vehicle and DXB will face the added disadvantage of learning a new circuit as the UAE drivers have not previously driven the Catalunya circuit. However, DXB Racing has every reason to be confident of a strong showing in Spain as the car is meticulously prepared and will benefit from the same expert and experienced mechanical support as the team enjoyed when their Aston Vantage GT4 scored a SP2 class win at this years Dubai 24-hours event held at the Dubai Autodrome.

The DXB team acknowledge that the local Spanish teams and drivers will be very tough to beat but are fully prepared and aim to secure a strong result and use the event as a springboard for an even stronger showing in the next Dubai 24-hour race to be held in January 2010.

The driver line up will be Frederic Gaillard, Julian Griffin, Jonathan Simmonds & Rob Barff who will bring invaluable experience support to the team.

The 24 Horas de Automovilismo will be held at the Circuit de Catalunya on September 4th, 5th and 6th 2009.
